Mason Mount and Harry Kane scored for England as they beat Albania 2-0 to claim three points in the second World Cup Qualifiers match after thrashing San Marino 5-0 in their first game.
First Half Report Albania 0-1 England
The first half of the encounter provided some good display of football from the two teams who created opportunities but only the away side could manage a goal within 45 minutes.
Albania had things under control after taking the game to their opponent in the early stages and despite the pressure pouring in they managed to hold on as the match progressed.
England finally broke the deadlock which came in the 38th minute as Luke Shaw threw in a cross which Harry Kane headed in to make it 1-0 after the away side controlled play with more ball possession on their side.
The first 45 minutes progressed into the last few minutes without any goal action but the opportunities kept coming for the away side to increase their lead but they couldn’t be clinical enough to make it count.
The referee signaled for the end of the first half encounter which it ended with 0-1 as they both headed for the break with advantage to Southgate’s side who were the better team.
Second Half Report Albania 0-1 England
It wasn’t a much different second half encounter in which another goal was scored and lots of opportunities created which couldn’t result in anything good after 45 minutes.
England had things going their way as they continued to press more and more making life hard for the home side who were left to defend to keep the scoreline from increasing more.
Albania soon couldn’t contain the pressure as Chelsea man Mason Mount beat the defense and scored an outstanding goal to make it 2-0 in the 63rd minute which the assist came from Harry Kane.
The game carried on without anything working out as yellow cards were shown to the likes of Kyle Walker and Harry Kane while the home side also saw Elseid Hysaj and Klaus Gjasula also on the card list.
It finally came to an end as it finished with 0-2 which the away side claimed their second win and three points in the World Cup Qualifiers for 2022 after an amazing encounter which went their way.
