Atletico Madrid were the side sitting back and hoping to hit the Blues on an attack and get a goal which proved difficult with Thomas Tuchel side posing some good display of defending which saw Rudiger and Christensen teaming up well.
Chelsea created numerous chances which didn’t pan out well as they only could trouble Juan Oblak just once with mostly all their shots were wide off goal and didn’t threaten the goalkeeper who didn’t have much to do as the game progressed.
The first half of the encounter ended with 0-0 as they both headed for the break with a goalless scoreline as the away side saw more of the ball but couldn’t score a goal

The game went on with nothing much to talk about as both sides continued to push forward with more coming from the home team who were behind after that amazing goal by Olivier Giroud.
