Lone goal from Tammy Abraham ensured Chelsea narrowly escaped with a slim 1-0 victory against Barnsley in the Emirates FA Cup which was merely a lucky win as the Blues failed to make themselves look good.

The first half of the encounter was very poor from the Blues who were pressured throughout and luckily escaped without conceding a goal which saw Kepa Arrizabalaga pulled an outstanding save In the match.
Chelsea was less threatening as they gave the home side more space to run and cause different kinds of problems for their defense which was solid and thanks to them no goal was scored.
Barnsley looked sharp and good throughout the 45 minutes which saw them created more chances and also got more strikes including more goalmouth action which almost saw them get a goal.
The first half ended with 0-0 as they both headed for the break with a goalless draw which saw some good play from the home side who looked better between the two teams.
Second Half Report Barnsley 0-1 Chelsea
The second half was a different ball game as it resumed with more pace coming from the away side who managed to get a grip of the game after a not so good first 45 minutes.
Barnsley held on quite well enough as they continued to show a brilliant attitude towards the Premier League side who were frustrated throughout the game as they couldn’t make anything happen.
Chelsea finally broke the deadlock as Tammy Abraham came to their rescue in the 64th minute as he teamed up with Reece James who assisted the pass before the strike scored to make it 1-0.
The game progressed without a goal as the home side looked to be the better side who created more opportunities but they just couldn’t make it count when it is needed for them to comeback.
The match ended with 0-1 as Thomas Tuchel side move to the quarter final where they go up against Sheffield United once again after playing them in the Premier League and winning 2-1.
