Chelsea beat Atletico Madrid 2-0 in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League with a goals from Hakim Ziyech and Emerson as they move on to the next round of the competition with a 3-0 aggregate after winning the previous tie.
First Half Report Chelsea 1-0 Atletico Madrid
Both teams were amazing in the first half of the encounter which saw the Premier League side dominating play and managed to score one goal after getting just only one chance on target from a great counter attack.
Atletico Madrid had things under control as they were the side who went close on many occasions which we saw Joao Felix and Luis Suarez causing all sorts of troubles which the Blues defence were able to contain and dealt with easily.
Chelsea soon broke the deadlock in the 34th minute after they break from defending to attacking which Kai Havertz teamed up Timo Werner who raced through and gave Hakim Ziyech who scored to make it 1-0 for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
The game progressed without a goal coming as more opportunities were created before the first half of the encounter ended with 1-0, as they both headed for the break with an advantage to the home side who dominated play.
Second Half Report Chelsea 1-0 Atletico Madrid
The second half of the encounter kickoff with a high pace in attack which saw both teams creating few opportunities in the early stages of the 45 minutes which the home side had more defending to do with a 2-0 lead on aggregate.
Chelsea continued to look the better between the two sides as the game progressed while more opportunities were created with Timo Werner going close and Hakim Ziyech long range strike which couldn’t beat Oblak.
Things got worst for Atletico Madrid in the 82nd minute of the game as Stefan Savic was sent off after being showed a straight red card for a foul which saw the visitors going down to 10 men as the game progressed into the last few minutes left.
The game carried on as both sides continued to make things happen with the home side dominating play with their one man advantage which saw Callum Hudson-Odoi coming in to replace Timo Werner before Emerson scored a late goal to make it 2-0.
The match finally ended with 2-0 as they claimed another win as they finished off their opponent by a 3-0 aggregate to move on to the next round of the UEFA Champions League after a good home and away win.
