Both Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcus Alonso scored as Chelsea beat Burnley 2-0 as Thomas Tuchel gets his first win after taking over from Frank Lampard who was sacked a few days ago by the board.
First Half Report Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
The first half of the encounter saw the Blues dominated play as they scored one goal in the 45 minutes which saw Marco Alonso starting after a very long time of the team following Ben Chilwell’s arrival from Leicester City.
Burnley was able to soak in all the pressure from their opponent who saw more of the ball and threatened all through with Time Werner going close but his finish was poor before Tammy Abraham miss also.
Cesar Azpilicueta gave Chelsea a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute after the Blues captain was quick to react with a clinical finish which was assisted by Callum Hudson-Odoi who played as a wing-back in the game.
The first half ended with 1-0 as Thomas Tuchel’s side went for the break with a slim but crucial advantage after an amazing 45 minutes which they showed class and control.
Second Half Report Chelsea 1-0 Burnley
The second half was the same as the home side dominated and recorded another goal which was the biggest highlight of the game and probably the goal of the season so far.
Burnley continued to be the side who were uncomfortable as the pressure continued but they also had some good chances of scoring too but Edouard Mendy was up to the task at hand.
Marcos Alonso scored a bullet strike in the 84th minute of the game after as Assist from Christian Pulisic which saw the out of favored wingback struck with his left to finish off and make it 2-0 for his side.
The game progressed with nothing coming from both sides but the home side were flying sky high as they control the affair between the two sides who gave a good account of themselves going forward.
The match ended with 2-0 as new manager Thomas Tuchel claimed his first win after taking over at Stamford Bridge from Frank Lampard who was sacked earlier in the week.
