First half goals from Olivier Giroud and Timo Werner ensured Chelsea moved to fourth on the League table with a 2-0 win against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge which was filled with good displays.

The first half was fantastic from the home side who were clinical as they scored twice and put up an outstanding display which saw Kepa Arrizabalaga taking over his number one position.
It took Chelsea 31 minutes to get the opener which came through Olivier Giroud who was a substitute for Tammy Abraham that got injured, and the Frenchman wasted no time in making it 1-0.
Newcastle United failed to organize themselves as Timo Werner scored the second goal in the 39th minute which was his first after a very long time without scoring a goal as he made it 2-0.
The first half ended with 2-0 as they both headed for the first half break which was a good one for the home side who got the job done and took the advantage.

The second half was evenly matched with the two sides going after each other with a good display of attacking football but unfortunately, no goals were scored between them.
Newcastle United held on to their ground as they did not let anything go past them despite the loads of attacks thrown at them from the dominating side as the game progressed.
Chelsea had already done enough harm for the visitors to come back into the game as they were eager and making some good moves which was easily dealt with by the Blues.
The game progressed without any goal going in but some interesting play was witnessed which went mostly to the home side who had everything under control going forward.
The match ended with 2-0 as the Blues sealed three points and move up the table to fourth place with 42 points tied with West Ham United who are 5th.
