Chelsea 2 – 1 Wolfsburg (Women’s UEFA Champions League) 2021 | Watch And Download Match Highlight

Chelsea women recorded another impressive win in the Women’s UEFA Champions League quarter final clash against Wolfsburg 2-1 in the first leg with goals from Sam Kerr and Pernille Harder.

First Half Report Chelsea 0-0 Wolfsburg Women

They weren’t too much to report in the first half as both teams had few opportunities to make anything happen while most of the ball was played mainly in the midfield all through.

Wolfsburg had the upper hand coming into this Women’s UEFA Champions League encounter as they have won 5 times and draw one in all their encounter with the Blues women who aren’t so lucky.

Chelsea had some good chances going forward but they couldn’t break their opponent as they only managed one shot which didn’t trouble much with them being pressured mostly as the game progressed.

Both teams continued to map out each other as they both tightened up their defense making sure nothing goes past them, although the away side threatened more in the half.

The game carried on without anything interesting with the two teams closing up their defence which saw the home side being pressured the most with attacks pouring in and they managed to clear it all.

The first half finally came to an end as it finished with a 0-0 scoreline as they both headed for the break with a goalless scoreline after a very strong 45 minutes.

Second Half Report Chelsea 2-1 Wolfsburg Women

It was an entire second half encounter in which the Blues were dominant and controlled the game while goals were recorded with a good display of football coming from the teams.

Sam and Fran was the go to women who combined together in the 55th minute to make it 1-0 after Kirby played the ball to Kerr in the box who took one touch and smashed her effort beyond Kiedrzynek.

Wolfsburg were stunned once again in the 66th minute when their former player Pernille Harder made herself available to smash in the second for the Blues which made things turned 2-0.

The away side pulled one back in the 70th minute after an error in defending cost the English side to commit a penalty which Bloodworth stepped up to convert and made it 2-1.

The match finally came to and end as Emma Hayes’s side claimed a massive first leg victory in the quarter final of the Women’s UEFA Champions League encounter with the return leg to hold in Germany.
