Boxing day of the English Premier League provided lots of fun and goals with league leaders getting the biggest win after thrashing Leicester City while Manchester United won 4-1 against Newcastle.

The traditional bumper boxing day bonanza within the Premier League is upon us as the season reaches its halfway mark – and Liverpool is in a very league of their own.

With Liverpool traveling to second-placed Leicester city ten points ahead with a game in hand, goals from Roberto Firmino (two), James Milner and Trent Alexander-Arnold bimanual them a 4-0 win to send Jurgen Klopp’s Reds thirteen points clear.

The first of 9 games was in north London as Tottenham came from behind to beat Brighton 2-1, avenging their demeaning loss on the south coast earlier within the season.

Chelsea was surprised by Southampton, a fifth defeat in six for Frank Lampard.

On the south coast, Mikel Arteta starts his job at Arsenal with a draw at Bournemouth whereas Carlo Ancelotti won his initial game to blame of Everton, over Burnley.

Later within the day, Manchester United thumped Newcastle 4-1 once going a goal down.
