Leon Goretzka alongside Kai Havertz and Gundogan all scored as Germany beat Iceland 3-0 in their opening campaign of the World Cup Qualifiers 2022 which they were able to start off well.
First Half Report Germany 2-0 Iceland
The first half of the encounter was one sided as the Germans were in total control bossing the whole 45 minutes which they also scored some spectacular goals going forward.
It took Germany just 3 minutes to get things going as Leon Goretzka scored an outstanding goal to make it 1-0 which came after their first few attacks on their opponent.
Iceland couldn’t get a grip of the game as Chelsea man Kai Havertz scored the second goal of the game in the 7th minutes to make it 2-0 after racing to meet a rebound and smashed in past the goalkeeper.
The first half of the encounter progressed without another goal as it ended with 2-0, which they headed for the break with advantage to the home side who had an amazing 45 minutes.
Second Half Report Germany 1-0 Iceland
It was another 45 minutes filled with excitement as the home side had more to offer in the second half which saw them also dominated and control all through with opportunities.
Iceland got a grip of the game as they managed to hold their opponent at bay and also made sure they created some good quality chances which couldn’t result in anything for them.
Germany soon made it 3-0 in the 56th minute as Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan ensured he got his name on the scoresheet with a brilliant finishing which increased the lead further.
The encounter went on without a goal to record but the opportunities kept coming in folds as the home side continued to cause all sorts of issues for their opponent who were wrecking and poor.
It ended with 3-0 as the referee signaled for full time which the home side recorded a massive victory in their World Cup qualifiers that started off with a bang for the Germans.
