“He Wasn’t Giving Us Enough” – Frank Lampard Blast Timo Werner After Arsenal Loss!

Frank Lampard has come out to heavily criticize Timo Werner who was very poor against Arsenal as Chelsea lost to them at the Emirates 3-1 despite Mikel Arteta fielding out a much younger squad without experience.

Frank Lampard has also hinted the German International might be dropped in the next couple of games over his inability to perform or score goals despite scoring loads of goal in Germany before the move to England.

The Blues manager confirmed Timo Werner was giving didn’t offer his side enough which led to him being replaced at half time with Callum Hudson-Odoi taking over his position in the wings.

The former RB Leipzig striker has now gone on 10 games without scoring a goal which is now being a concern for a player of his quality and pedigree following his £50 plus move to Stamford Bridge.

Currently experiencing his longest goal drought at club level since 2016, Timo Werner is seemingly struggling after an encouraging start to life at Stamford Bridge with Lampard now desperate to get more out of the prolific striker.

He Said:

“Certainly the goals not going in is always something an attacking player will get judged on,” Lampard said when asked about Werner in his post-match press conference.

“The subs, I could have made more. But I felt I had to make the subs in those two areas to inject energy.

“For today, TImo wasn’t giving us enough with or without the ball. Some of it we have to give him time.

I keep saying the same thing because it’s a different league but we also have to get there quickly.

“We’ll see about the tiredness – I’ll have a conversation with him. But I felt I had to make changes to change the course of the match.”

Chelsea next game will be a home clash against Aston Villa who is currently on hot red form and Frank Lampard will be hoping to bounce back when they play at Stamford Bridge on Monday December 28th.

  1. Concerning the performance from Werner, he deserves to step a side for Hudson for at least some couple of game since all eyes are on him and he doesn’t score goals.

  2. Timo werner is not a winger.
He should be played in his preferred position.
Perhaps we need a good coach.
I don’t know why lampard is playing players out of position and expect them to perform brilliantly.
Currently there is no mentality in the team right now.
I hope he get sacked soon!
