Chelsea defender Anthony Rudiger who had a hand in Kai Havertz and Timo Werner move has come out to make some bold statements about David Alaba move to Stamford Bridge ahead of summer window.
The German is confident that the Austrian will possibly make a move to England next season which he is available for free after failing to extend his contract with Bayern Munich over some differences between the club and his representatives.
Rudiger said he already had contact with David Alaba as he was asked about a possible move which is also under threats with reports of Real Madrid already winning the race to sign the defender.
Rudiger made this known ahead of Chelsea’s away Premier League clash with Southampton on Saturday after coming off the Blues 2-0 victory against Newcastle United which moved them fourth on the table.
The Germany international also played a key role in Chelsea signing Timo Werner and Kai Havertz last summer and he appears to be working behind the scenes once again for the West London club concerning their next move.
Recall that Chelsea are among interested clubs that want to secure the service of the Austrian international, with Real Madrid leading the way for his signature after reports of a verbal agreement already reached.
David Alaba had confirmed earlier this week that he would leave Bayern Munich at the end of June 2021 when his contract expires after the club couldn’t meet up with the terms requested for a contract renewal.
“If Chelsea were to decide on one of the three players as a transfer target, I would be available to answer any questions,”
Rudiger told Bild.
“I know Jerome and Niklas very well, and I have already had contact with David Alaba.”
Chelsea will be going up against Southampton in their next English Premier League encounter which goes down on Saturday as they will be looking at a possible win to cement their top four hopes.
