A brace from Moussa Dembele sent Manchester City crashing out of the Champions League after losing 2-1 to Lyon as De Bruyne scored.
First Half Report Manchester City 0-1 Lyon:
The match kicked off with Manchester City tipped to get the win and move on to the next round.
Lyon had other plans for them in the first half of the match as they came prepared for anything.
The match went on with opportunities coming multiple times for both sides but they failed to convert.
It proved difficult for both teams to break each other down as their defense was on lockdown.
The French League side broke the deadlock in the 24th minute with an outside box strike from Maxwell Cornet.
The game was stopped as VAR reviewed the goal for a possible foul but it was later given as the game turned 1-0.
That was the only goal as the first half ended with a 1-0 scoreline as the Ligue One side headed for the break with the advantage.
Second Half Report Manchester City 1-2 Lyon:
The second half began with both sides going at each other with City fighting to pull level in the game.
The Premier League side came close getting the leveler but their finishing was bad as it failed to hit target.
The away side for the encounter had much to do as the pressure fell on their to maintain their lead.
Kevin De Bruyne pulled Manchester City 1-1 level in the 69th minute after Raheem Sterling teed up the Belgian for the goal.
Moussa Dembele put his side ahead in the game with 79 minutes gone in the second half.
Thanks to a lovely assist from Aouar which saw the Frenchman opened one one with Ederson before making it 2-1.
The game was home and dry for Lyon as Dembele grabbed his brace in the 87th minute.
The goal was the last action of the game as it ended with the French side advancing to the semi finals.
