Mason Mount and Jorginho both scored in the two halves as Chelsea beat Sheffield United 2-1 in the English Premier League weekend encounter as Rudiger conceded an own goal which was very poor from the German player.
First Half Report Sheffield United 0-1 Chelsea
It was all about the Blues as they dominated the entire first half of the encounter which also saw them managed to score one goal that took all their strength and efforts to get as the home side showed quality.
Sheffield United maintained a solid ground despite being the side the odds to win didn’t favor a bit but they managed to show some good quality going forward with them almost taking the lead.
Chelsea were frustrated but managed to get a grip of themselves as Mason Mount scored a brilliant goal in the 43rd minute thanks to a lovely assist from Timo Werner who did the dirty job to make it 1-0.
The first half ended with 0-1 as they both headed for the break with advantage to Thomas Tuchel’s side who deserved to be ahead of their opponent in the game which was entertaining.
Second Half Report Sheffield United 1-1 Chelsea
The second half of the encounter was tough than the first 45 minutes as both sides scored with more amount of opportunities created while the Blues dominated the game.
Sheffield United pulled back level in the 55th minute after an error from Anthony Rudiger made him put the ball inside his own net which made the scoreline changed to 1-1 as it progressed.
Chelsea found their way back in the lead with just 58 minutes gone after Timo Werner was fouled inside the box and Jorginho stepped up and scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-1.
The game progressed without another goal but the chances kept coming and going without anyone making good use of it while the game entered an extra time that was awarded by the referee.
The match finally ended with 1-2 as the win takes the Blues up to 5th position with just one point separating them from 4th places Liverpool who lost scandalously 4-1 to Manchester City today.
